Iran Press/ Iran News: At the International Conference on Legal-International Claims of Holy Defense in Tehran on Tuesday, Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari stated that the era of Holy Defense is a glorious era and the importance of processing various aspects of this era is necessary for the current and future generations to be aware of the critical era of holy defense.
The Iranian police force commander added that during the 8 years of war imposed by the Ba'athist regime in Iraq, Iran suffered losses but had many achievements. The success of today's Islamic Iran is the result of this resistance, self-sacrifice, and martyrdom.
Brigadier General Ashtari pointed out that the authority of Iran and the progress in various fields of science, medicine, and other fields is resulted from standing up and modeling the eight years of Holy Defense's values.
The commander of Iran's police also said that the world's leading countries supported Saddam's Ba'athist regime during the eight years of the imposed war. Still, thank God, the leadership of Imam Khomeini, the fighters' resistance, and courage, Islamic Iran won this unfair war.
Brigadier General Ashtari referred to the role of counter-revolutionary and terrorist groups after the victory of the Islamic Revolution during the holy defense and until now, adding that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, terrorist groups started sabotage and barbaric acts against Iran with the support of the United States, Israel and some countries in the region.
The Iranian police force commander noted that the aim of the terrorist and counter-revolutionary groups was to strike at the Islamic system and riots in Iran, which failed due to the people's vigilance, Iranian military, and security forces.
