Rome (IP) - Americans living in Italy held an anti-US rally in Rome.

Iran PressEurope: Americans living in Italy have called for EU sanctions against the United States and Britain in the wake of continuing human rights abuses and the persecution of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

Several American citizens living in Rome and Italian activists submitted the request in a letter to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, at the Commission's office in Rome.

We want to stop those who are threatening the freedom of the media in the West, especially the United States and Britain, which have been harassing Assange for ten years, said US citizens living in Rome about Julian Assange and WikiLeaks.
