New York (IP) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced that the Minister of Foreign Affairs would travel to Beirut at the earliest time.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said on Saturday on the possible visit of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian to Lebanon: "The new Lebanese government has been formed, and there are close relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon."

Khatibzadeh added: "This trip will take place at the first opportunity, but there is no such plan to go to Beirut on the way back to Tehran from New York."

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman also said: "We are planning at the earliest opportunity and the Iranian Foreign Minister will leave for Beirut to congratulate the Lebanese government and people."

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has traveled to New York to attend the UN General Assembly.
