Azerbaijani FM:

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan in New York and discussed the development of bilateral relations.

Iran PressAmerica: Continuing his meetings on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian discussed bilateral relations with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan welcomed a trilateral meeting between Iran, Turkey, and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran.

Bayramov described the relations between the two countries as having very positive dynamics and in the right direction and thanked Iran for its support for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, emphasizing the readiness of his country to cooperate in all fields, including political, economic, trade, and cultural fields with the Islamic Republic of Iran, and said: "The Republic of Azerbaijan is ready to pursue joint projects in the Caspian Sea, and regular interactions and consultations at various levels."

The Iranian Foreign Minister also considered the relations between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan of special importance and expressed hope that previous agreements would be implemented, saying: "Iran has given special priority to relations with its neighbors."

Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need to maintain this spirit by stating that the two countries have supported each other in international and regional forums.

Amir-Abdollahian also called the commonalities of the two countries deep and diverse and said: "Iran has always supported the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

The Iranian Foreign Minister noted: "Important projects and cooperation in various fields such as electricity, gas, dam construction, trade, and transit, including the Astara railway terminal and cooperation between the private and public sectors will be pursued between the two sides."

Amir-Abdollahian called the reconstruction of the liberated areas a ground for extensive cooperation between the two countries.

The Iranian Foreign Minister added: "Some third parties should not be allowed to affect the good relations between the two countries."
