The 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) began on September 14, with the General Debate — a chance for representatives from all 193 member states to speak in front of the chamber — starting the following week.
The week-long General Debate, which will draw diplomats from all over the world to New York, will be the highlight of the event.
The first day of the high-level General Debate will be Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
The Iranian delegation headed by Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdolhian will arrive in New York on Monday and have several meetings, he added.
Takht-e-Ravanchi highlighted meetings of the Iranian delegation as to be bilateral meetings with foreign ministers of other countries, meetings on regional issues such as Yemen and Afghanistan developments, and high-level meetings on energy, food system, racial discrimination, and the need to eliminate weapons of mass destruction.
Iran's ambassador to the UN also announced that Amir-Abdollahian would meet with the UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
Takht-e-Ravanchi said that the Iranian Foreign Minister would have meetings with Iranian researchers, journalists living in the United States, and various think tanks.
