The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement has strongly warned Israel against launching a military strike on the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank.

Iran Press/ Middle East: The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement sent armed men to the camp ahead of expected Israeli attacks.

Israel has launched a massive hunt to capture the six prisoners after breaking out of Gilboa Prison early Monday with high security in what is considered to be among the most serious prison break-ups in history.

Their escape is seen as a landmark, strategic success for the Palestinian resistance groups.

“If the Israeli army comes in [Jenin] it will be met with significant firepower from many weapons and explosive devices, ”the group said at a Tuesday press conference in Jenin.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad warned that if there were changes in the conditions of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons, especially its members, it would respond.

“Injury to the prisoners is a red line, and the occupation must carefully consider what we say and realize that we are ready and able to protect our prisoners by all means,” the group said in a statement.

“Every act of revenge against prisoners will bring the opening of the gates of hell against Israel everywhere,” the group said.
