Tehran (IP) - The Iranian and Austrian Foreign Ministers discussed regional and global developments as well as the situation in Afghanistan in a telephone conversation.

Iran PressIran news: Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in a telephone conversation with his Austrian counterpart Alexander Schallenberg emphasized economic and trade cooperation, especially in the fields of industry, agriculture, science, and technology.

He also expressed Iran's readiness for further cooperation in the field of vaccines.

Regarding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), he said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has shown its fundamental contribution to maintaining JCPOA in the face of US withdrawal and inaction of Europe, and now is the time for other JCPOA members to fulfill their obligations."

He stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the negotiation in JCPOA.

Regarding the Baghdad meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister called the initiative a good platform for intra-regional cooperation, adding: "Iraq and its sovereignty have been the target of interventionist and irresponsible actions by some parties, including the United States, as in the cowardly assassination of General Qassem Soleimani and the high-ranking Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis."
