Iran (IP)- Missile power, as one of the components of the authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a capability that has been developed in response to arms sanctions and the need for a strong strategic element in the direction of strategic deterrence.

Iran PressIran news: The two characteristics of "knowledge-based" and "indigenousness" have led to the development of Iran's missile capability in the last three decades, and today it has reached such a level of development that a wide range of ballistic missiles are available to the Iranian Armed Forces.

Qadr missile is one of the long-range ballistic missiles in the country, which was built with the efforts of the country's defense industry for many years.

Overview

Today, when it comes to Iranian missiles, everyone subconsciously thinks of the Shahab 3 ballistic missile, but Iran's missile power has gone beyond the Shahab 3 missile for years and has reached more advanced examples, of which the Qadr missile is one of the most important.

The missile was a continuation of efforts to upgrade the Shahab 3 missile, which has been mass-produced in several different types. "Qadr H" and "Qadr F" are the most important ballistic missiles of the Qadr class, although there is an anonymous model called "Qadr S" among the Qadr missiles, about which little information has been published so far.

General Hossein Dehqan, the then Minister of Defense, in March 2015, referring to the mass delivery of long-range ballistic missiles to the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force, said: "Delivered missiles have the ability to destroy a wide range of targets, and due to their high tactical capabilities, long duration on the battlefield and radar evasion can destroy targets in any situation."

Confirming the ability to install smart warheads on long-range missiles such as Qadr, Qiam, and Sejjil, Gen Dehqan stressed: "This warhead can be installed on any missile. By installing this smart search warhead, Iran's missile warheads can also be controlled after entering the atmosphere and destroy the target with very high accuracy."

These missiles are manufactured by the Aerospace Industries Organization of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support. Qadr-F is one of Iran's most unique and well-designed missiles in many ways, such as its high accuracy during collisions or high speed of movement, which prevents it from being targeted.

The Air Force of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps has Qadr class missiles in three types: "H, F and S", which are capable of targeting targets at different distances with various ranges and high accuracy.

The Qadr missile was unveiled for the first time in an annual parade marking the anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war. This missile has been produced in two types, "Qadr H" with a range of 1,650 km and "Qadr F" with a range of 1,950 km.

"Qadr F" missile is one of the most accurate ballistic missiles made in the country, which can target its targets with great accuracy.

Qadr missile is an improved model of "Shahab 3" missile, and some believe that this missile is a two-stage missile, the first stage of which has liquid fuel and the second stage has solid fuel, which allows it to have a range of 1,950 kilometers.

This missile has a much shorter installation time and is installed in 30 minutes compared to "Shahab 3", which takes hours to install and launch. The construction of high-powered missiles, such as the Qadr-F missile, has led countries in the region and other countries to pay special attention to Iran's defense capabilities.

Specifications of types of Qadr missiles

The Qadr-F ballistic missile is a long-range missile that uses liquid fuel. This missile is capable of targeting various targets with a radius of nearly 2000 km with high accuracy.

"Qadr-F" is able to target targets at a maximum range of 1,948 km and at a minimum range of 500 km.

"Qadr-F" weighs 17,458 kg and with a length of 15 meters and 86 centimeters and a diameter of one meter and 25 centimeters, carries a warhead equivalent to 640 kilograms.

In terms of weight and range, the Qadr-F missile, although 2,000 kilograms heavier than the Shahab 3 missile, has a range of about 800 kilometers more than the Shahab.

The length of the Qadr-F ballistic missile is not much different from that of the Shahab 3 and is about 15 meters long. In the case of warheads, the Qadr-F weighs only 30 kilograms less than the Shahab 3, which weighs 640 kilograms.

The maximum speed of the Qadr- F missile is Mach 9 and its guidance system is "inertia / GPS" guidance.

The presence of some features of the Qadr-F missile indicates that new technology has been used in the construction of this missile.

The missile has been touted as a viable option for targeting Israel because, with its excellent accuracy, it can hit targets about 2,000 kilometers away from the country's territory.

This shows that newer technology has been used in the production of Qadr-F missiles because, despite the significant increase in range, the length of the missile and even its warhead weight have not decreased.

The presence of some remarkable features in this missile has led to it being referred to as the "Israel-destroyer" missile.

To this end, some features of the Qadr-F missile include:

• High accuracy when targeting targets

• Use of liquid fuel

• Capable of carrying a warhead weighing 640 kg

• Having intense explosive warheads such as Blast and rain

But Qadr does not end with the long-range Qadr-F, but with another example of a mass-produced Qadr ballistic missile called the Qadr-H.

The Qadr-H ballistic missile is very similar to the Qadr-F in many respects. The second member of the Qadr project probably weighs about 15,000 kilograms, is approximately 15 to 17 meters long, is more than one meter in diameter, is capable of carrying a warhead weighing approximately 650 kilograms, and uses liquid fuel for flight but in terms of range, the Qadr-H has about 400 km different from the Qadr-F.

"Qadr-H" has a range of nearly 1,700 km, while "Qadr-F" has a range of 2,000 km. This reduction in range is most likely due to the strategy of our country's armed forces, but the interesting thing is that now the Qadr missile family is armed with raining warheads, and this ability has been created so that in case of a threat, Iran can attack the main enemy bases and arteries around the country with the least number of missiles, but on a large scale.

The Qadr-H-ballistic missile has a range of about 1,650 to 1,700 kilometers and is capable of hitting targets well at this distance. This rocket also used liquid fuel.

No information has been released about the Qadr S ballistic missile, but it has a range of about 1,350 kilometers and uses liquid fuel.

Qadr missile warheads

Today, with the efforts of our country's experts in the Ministry of Defense, various models of ballistic missiles (F, H, and S) have been equipped with various warheads, including Blast and raining missiles.

Installing rain warheads on long-range ballistic missiles means that when the missile hits the target, the missile warhead opens and rains down several kilograms of small bombs in large volumes over a wide area.

These warheads are very useful for hitting the enemy's wide positions, runways and airport hangars, and fighters on the runway, as well as defense and missile equipment spread on the ground.

Cluster warheads are a type of integrated warhead that consists of a large number of small ammunition. This type of warhead is suitable for covering a relatively large area where multiple targets are scattered.

Of course, small-caliber raining warhead ammunition for ballistic missiles with conventional cluster bombs dropped from aircraft may have dimensional and operational differences.

Blast warheads that can be installed in Qadr missiles are the same high-explosive warheads that, when hitting the target, cause an explosion with a high volume of fire and cause high damage to the target.
