The UN Security Council will convene on Monday morning to discuss the situation in Afghanistan

Iran PressAmerica: The UN Security Council will hold an emergency meeting on Afghanistan on Monday morning at the request of Estonia and Norway.

The meeting will take place on Monday morning with the attendance of the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who last Friday called on the Taliban to stop fighting and start a dialogue with the government.

Morning sessions of the UN Security Council normally begin at 10:00 local time.

Many Western countries, mainly those involved with troops on the ground in the last 20 years have started to withdraw their diplomatic and civilian personnel.

United States, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Canada, together with Saudi Arabia, have ordered the repatriation of their diplomatic staff and their Afghan collaborators.

Today, the Taliban entered Kabul and took over government offices from Afghan forces.

Earlier,  Afghan sources reported that Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had left Afghanistan at the same time as the Taliban ordered the group to enter Kabul, the capital of the country.

Many Afghan officials and people attribute the current situation in Afghanistan to the failed US policies in Afghanistan. 219
