Tehran (IP) - Iran's Interior Minister says the new variant of the coronavirus triggers conditions across the country and for containment of the virus people's cooperation is vital.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at the 19th meeting of the country's National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus on Wednesday, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli pointed to the occasion of Muharram month and said the new protocols must be observed during the Muharram rituals, noting that no mourning ceremony would be held at closed spaces at any case.

Rahmani Fazli further said that there would be no street mourning during Imam Hussain's (AS) morning ceremony.

Also, in the meeting, a special group (representatives of Armed forces, Health Ministry, and Interior Ministry) was formed to monitor the implementation of the health protocols and the disease status in the country.

Still, the minister reported that a two-week lockdown of the country yet was not approved and that the issue would be discussed in a meeting with the President.

Rahmani Fazli referred to the shortage of medicine and hospital bed in the country, saying the country's medical equipment shortage was fully met. 

The 19th meeting of the country's National Task Force for Combating Coronavirus was held at the Interior Ministry, Tehran, on Wednesday afternoon with Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and other related bodies attendance to discuss the fifth wave of coronavirus outbreak's status quo in the country and the required measures to be taken to contain it.
