Third AstraZeneca vaccine shipment sent by Japan arrives in Iran

Tehran (IP) - Iran received the third consignment of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan.

Iran PressIran News: The third shipment of the AstraZeneca vaccine sent by Japan arrived at Imam Khomeini Airport on Saturday with a flight from Qatar to Iran.

This shipment includes 725,940 doses of the corona vaccine.

So far, the number of vaccines imported from Japan to Iran has reached 2 million 911 thousand and 810 doses.

On Friday, Iran received the second consignment of the COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccine from Japan.

The first shipment of the vaccine arrived in the country last Friday (23 July), containing more than one million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine produced in Japan.

Vaccines imported from several countries, including Russia, India, Italy, South Korea, and Japan, have been imported to Iran.

Mass vaccination against COVID-19 started on Iranian citizens with Sputnik V on February 9.

The Islamic Republic is currently producing vaccines jointly with three countries of Cuba, Russia, and Australia, which may also be released by September, while homegrown vaccines COV-Iran Barakat vaccines have received the emergency use license, and some others Iranian made vaccines are at the human phase test.
