Tokyo (IP) - Niek Kimmann of the Netherlands won gold in the Olympic men’s BMX racing event on Friday.

Iran PressAsia: Kimmann surged to win gold in the men‘s BMX final, just two days after the chaotic moment he collided with a clueless official on the course, according to Reuters.

Kimmann sustained a knee injury when he was sent plummeting to the ground when an official unbelievably wandered onto the track during a training run on Monday.

But the Dutchman bounced back in a major way, winning an incredible gold medal on what was an otherwise horrible day on the BMX course.
