Iranian MP:

Tehran (IP) - The deputy chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament said that the next government of Iran would pursue the principled positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressIran news: In an exclusive interview with Iran Press, Abbas Moghtadaei added that the European countries should not miss the remaining opportunities and should compensate for the losses regarding their JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) obligations.

Moghtadaei noted that Western governments, especially France, had ignored that the Americans and European countries violated the agreement and did not fulfill their obligations, while the Islamic Republic of Iran fulfilled all its obligations under the JCPOA.

Abbas Moqtadaei highlighted: "Western countries are concerned that the Iranian people are determined to achieve their national interests at the highest level, and accordingly, the Law on Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions was approved by the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran to define the framework."

He noted that the logical principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran were quite clear, adding: "Iran will fulfill its promise, but if the Western countries want to put pressure on Iran with threats, the Iranian people will insist on their principled positions as in previous years."

Moghtadaei underscored that the Islamic Republic of Iran would prefer the national interests of the Iranian people over anything and would not make decisions by force or coercion.

"Of course, Western countries know that the Islamic Republic of Iran is an independent country in the region," he said.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran seeks to establish good relations with all countries, but Westerners should also know that the pressure they put on some countries in the region will not affect the Iranian nation," the deputy chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament stressed.

Abbas Moqtadaei concluded: "If Western countries do not adhere to their promises, they should not expect cooperation from the Islamic Republic of Iran."
