Tehran (IP) - The leader of the Islamic Revolution says during the Rouhani administration, it became clear that trust in the West does not work.

Iran PressIran news: The Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, received President Hassan Rouhani and members of the Cabinet of Ministers on Wednesday in the final days of Rouhani's administration.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution, emphasizing that under no circumstances should domestic programs depend on cooperation with the West, said: "In this government, it became clear that trust in the West does not work."

"Others should use your experiences. One experience I have repeatedly said is "distrust of the West." Future generations should use the experience. In this government, it turned out that trust in the West does not work," the leader highlighted.

"Westerners are not helping us," he said. "They hit wherever they can. If they do not hurt us, it is because they can't not because they don't want, and this is a significant experience," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated: "Absolutely, domestic programs should not be conditional on accompanying by the West, because it will definitely fail."

Whenever one hoped for the West to solve a country's problems, he failed, but wherever he did his job without trust in the West, he succeeded, the Leader noted.

"They don't help us because they are enemies," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Americans did not and will not lift sanctions

In another part of his speech about the US hostile policy against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Americans stood firm on their hostile position in the Vienna talks and did not take a single step.

"The West and the US are totally unjust and malicious in their negotiations. They have no hesitation in breaching their commitments at all. In the previous agreement, they breached their commitments and they give no guarantee they will abide by their commitments in the future either."

The Leader of Iran's Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, stated: "In the recent nuclear talks, the Americans staunchly insisted on their obstinate stance. When making promises and on paper, they say they’ll remove sanctions, but in practice, they didn’t and won’t. Then they say new articles should be added to the deal that already exists".

Americans will not lift the sanctions

"The Americans promise that we will lift the sanctions, but they did not and will not lift the sanctions, while they also make a condition and say that you [Iran] should put a sentence into the agreement [JCPOA] that some issues will be discussed later, otherwise we will not have an agreement," said the leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out: "Using the sentence, they want to provide an excuse for their subsequent interventions in the principles of the JCPOA, missiles and regional issues, and if Iran refuses to discuss them, they say that Iran has violated the agreement."
