Tehran (IP) - The Assistant Foreign Minister and General Director of Iran Foreign Ministry's West Asia Department, Rasoul Mousavi, tweeted: "The people of Afghanistan want peace and tranquility from all ethnicities and geographical regions to build their country."

Iran PressIran News: He added: "Anyone in any position ,in Afghanistan or in Iran, speaks against peace between the Taliban and the Afghan government has has definitely spoken against the will of the people, the national interests and the neighborly relations between the two countries."

Mousavi, on Wednesday, 14 July, at the meeting held by the International Association of Muslim University Professors in Tehran on the recent developments in Afghanistan, referred to Iran's plan for talks between Taliban and the Republic faction, comprising of Ashraf Ghani, President of Afghanistan, Abdullah Abdullah, head of the High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) and other groups who share the power in the Asian country. 

"The formation of a joint transitional government between the Taliban and the Republic faction would lead to peace in Afghanistan," he stressed.
