West Asian stability is important for European security: Iranian MP

Tehran (IP) - The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament said that stability in West Asia is important not only for the region's countries but also for Europe.

Iran PressIran news: In a virtual meeting with Vito Rosario Petrocelli, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Immigration Committee of the Italian Senate, Vahid Jalalzadeh said that the history of relations between the two countries is based on the various capacities of cooperation and constructive relations, adding: "The Iranian parliament is ready to increase the level of consultation between the commissions of the two countries' parliaments and exchange experiences in legislation, expansion of political and economic relations."

Explaining the recent developments in the region, including Yemen, Palestine, and Afghanistan, the head of the National Security Commission of the Iranian Parliament said: "We believe that the countries of the region should ensure the security and stability of the region and that the interventions of other countries outside the region will achieve nothing but the continuation of instability and insecurity."

Vito Rosario Petrocelli, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Immigration Committee of the Italian Senate, also referred to the important and constructive role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in creating lasting peace and stability in the region and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is an important and influential country in the region, so it is impossible to establish lasting security and peace without the presence of Iran."
