Tehran(IP) - The Arafah prayer one day before Eid al-Adha in attendance of people in the Iranian capital was observed in full compliance with the health protocols in Ghazi-Saber shrine (AS) at Vanak.

Iran PressIran news:  The people in Tehran on Tuesday night, in compliance with the health protocols, social distancing, participated in the spiritual ceremony of Arafah prayer in Vanak.

 Eid al-Adha, or ‘Feast of the Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, Ismail, according to God's order.  As Abraham was about to kill his son, God gave Prophet Abraham a sheep instead of slaughtering.

Iran is celebrating Eid al-Adha on July 21 this year.
