Turkmenistans invites President-elect Raisi to ECO Summit

Tehran (IP) - The President of Turkmenistan invited the President-elect of Iran to Ashgabat to attend the Summit of the Caspian littoral states and the ECO Summit.

Iran PressIran news: In a telephone conversation, Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov invited Iranian President-elect Ibrahim Raisi to attend the sixth summit of the Caspian littoral states and the ECO summit in Ashgabat.

Congratulating the arrival of Eid al-Adha as the great Muslim holiday and the anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, Raisi said that expanding relations with neighbors is the priority of his government's foreign policy.

The President-elect of Iran pointed to the vast capacities of the two countries to improve the level of relations and added: "Talks should begin as soon as possible in order to accelerate the development of relations."

Emphasizing the continuation and strengthening of international cooperation between Iran and Turkmenistan, Raisi said: "Afghanistan's developments are very important for both countries and the officials of the two countries should have the necessary talks and consultations in this regard."

In this telephone conversation, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated Eid al-Adha and wished great success to the President of Iran.

He said: "Tehran-Ashgabat relations have deep historical and cultural roots that deeply connect the two nations."

Berdymukhamedov said that the relations between the two countries had been developed based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and mutual interests, adding: "Cooperation and interaction between the two countries in the international arena is also at a high level."
