Tehran (IP) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman has rejected the US government's allegations of a failed attempt to kidnap a US-based Iranian national as 'baseless' and 'ridiculous', saying the claim is not worth responding.

Iran PressIran news: "This new claim by the US government whose animosity towards Iran is crystal clear and not unknown to anyone is so baseless and ridiculous and is not really worth answering," Saeed Khatibzadeh said.

Saeed Khatibzadeh added that the US prosecutors had charged 4 Iranians with plotting to kidnap a New York-based Iranian national, Masoumeh Alinejad-Ghomikola, also known as Masih Alinejad.

"It is not the first time that the US resorts to such Hollywood-like scenarios, the sole purpose of which is to desperately revitalize its dead wood (burn notice) and discredited agents," noted the spokesman.
