Tehran (IP) - The Commander of the Qods Forces of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a message of condolences following the death of the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP-GC).

Iran PressIran news: In his message, Brigadier-General Esmail Qaani said that Ahmed Jibril with his character and manners, formed an integrated and comprehensive approach to establishing the nature of resistance.

He also added: "Al-Quds and the liberation of all Palestinian lands was the permanent compass of Abu Jihad (Ahmed Jibril), from which he did not go away even for one day."

Jibril passed away at the age of 83 in Damascus on Wednesday.

Ahmed Jibril, a Palestinian leader born in 1938, founded the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine - General Command, because of his belief in the "armed struggle to liberate Palestine."

PFLP-GC carried out several operations against the Israeli occupation, most notably the famous "Night of the Gliders" in 1987.
