Iran defends Afghans interests

Tehran (IP) - Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran's parliament, said on Saturday during a meeting with Amir Golshahin, Chairman of the Cultural Commission of the Afghan Parliament: "Iran will defend the interests of the Afghan people and stand by them for lasting peace and stability."

Iran PressIran news: Referring to the presence of a significant number of Afghan citizens in Iran, Vahid Jalalzadeh added: "Iran has provided equal conditions for Afghan citizens to live as far as possible, and now Afghan students are studying in scientific and educational centers."

Jalalzadeh stressed the need to continue Iran's principled policy to support the peace process and inter-Afghan talks without foreign interference and said foreign troops in the region had spread insecurity.

The head of the Cultural Commission of the Afghan Parliament, referring to the history of cooperation between the two countries, said that religious, historical, cultural, and territorial commonalities between the two countries are a factor in strengthening relations between Afghanistan and Iran.

Amir Golshahin also thanked Iran for its support to the government and people of Afghanistan and added: "We will never forget Iran's aid in difficult days."
