Iran Press/ Middle East: Speaking at the commemoration of the Great Iraqi Revolution (the 1920 Iraqi People's Revolution against the British occupiers), Hadi al-Amiri said: "American forces in Iraq are carrying out the Zionist agenda, and as long as they are present, one should not expect prosperity and stability from Iraq."
Al-Amiri called on all Iraqis and government officials to press for the expulsion of the US troops.
The Iraqi people and resistance groups have always stressed the need to expel the United States from Iraq, especially after last week's US attack on al-Hashdal al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Units) forces on the Iraqi-Syrian border, which resulted in the martyrdom of four members of the organization.
On January 5, 2020, the Iraqi parliament approved a plan to withdraw US troops from the country.
