Tehran (IP) - The Spokesman for the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission says unilateralism is declining in the world because the international system is shifting towards multilateralism.

Iran PressIran News: Mahmoud Abbaszadeh-Meshkini said that today the international system was shifting from a unilateral and unipolar world to multiple and diverse systems of power.

Abbaszadeh-Meshkini pointed to the role of energy in the economy and noted: "80% of the world's energy is located around the Persian Gulf, and all conspiracies and mischief against Iran are due to the existence of this huge source of energy and wealth in this region."

The Iranian lawmaker also called some countries' comments on the turnout level in the presidential election as meddling in Iran's internal affairs.
