Iran supports stable, unified Iraq: MFA Spox

Baghdad (IP): Foreign Ministry Spokesman after meeting with senior Iraqi officials including Foreign Minister and other senior diplomats in a twitter post said that Iran supports a stable, unified, and strong Iraq.

Iran PressMiddle East: Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh who has traveled to Baghdad to meet with Iraqi officials, stated in a Twitter message on Thursday that Iran supports a stable, unified, and strong Iraq.

"Delighted to meet with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, Minister of Culture Hassan Nadhem, my colleagues at the foreign ministry, and other friends of the brotherly Rep. of Iraq."

He added: Agreed to enhance civilizational ties and cultural, media and art exchanges. Iran supports a stable, unified, and strong Iraq.

On Wedensday, Saeed Khatibzadeh met Iraqi Minister of Culture Hussein Nazim.

During the meeting, they discussed the promotion of cultural relations between Iran and Iraq, how to resume pilgrimages, and specific areas of cooperation in culture, art, and civilization.

Reviewing the many areas of cooperation, the Iraqi minister of culture announced Baghdad's readiness to resume limited pilgrimage trips within the agreed health framework. Hussein Nazim stressed the need to expand cooperation in cultural and artistic issues of mutual interest.
