Iran Press/ Europe: During a meeting in Moscow, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Jihad Kazem Khavazi and Russian Fisheries Director Shestakov welcomed cooperation in research and science in the field of fisheries and aquaculture and agreed to extend the scope of cooperation from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf.
Welcoming the proposals of the Russian side in fisheries and aquaculture educational and research cooperation, as well as the expansion of cooperation from the Caspian Sea to the Persian Gulf, Khavazi stated that concluding a memorandum of cooperation with Russia was important for Iran.
During the meeting, Shestakov stressed the need to implement joint projects and announced Russia's readiness to accept Iranian students in fisheries and aquaculture.
Emphasizing the need to extend the ban on sturgeon fishing in the Caspian Sea, he noted that the countries of the Caspian basin need to make great efforts to protect valuable and rare species of fish.
