Tehran (IP) - Iran and Russia have discussed a joint action plan to waive Iranian and Russian citizens’ visas.

Iran Press/Iran News: Following the agreement on waiver of the group visas for tours between Iran and Russia, signed on March 28, 2017, in Moscow, the two countries have prepared a joint action plan of the two countries for the three-year period 2020-2022, which can be extended and revised.

The first meeting of the Joint Technical Committee for Tourism of Iran and Russia, with the presence of representatives of the two countries, discussed the joint action plan to implement the agreement on the waiver of group visas for Iranian and Russian citizens.

The two sides discussed cultural commonalities and bilateral tourism relations, the exchange of experience in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic, and mutual support of the two countries’ tourism industry.

The virtual meeting of the Iran-Russia Joint Technical Committee was held with the attendance of Mohammad Ghasemi, Director-General of the Tourism Marketing and Advertising Office of Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, and Damian Smilots, Head of the International Cooperation Agency of the Russian Federal Tourism Agency, and the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and experts from both sides.

Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Ali-Asghar Mounesan, will soon travel to Russia to sign a document to prepare the necessary arrangements for a business-to-business (B2B) meeting between the private sector of the countries.
