Iran Press/ Asia: Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on Monday evening for a one-day visit and meeting with high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Consultation and exchange of views on the latest developments in bilateral relations and the most important regional and international issues are the main purposes of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
At the end of the visit, Zarif will leave the Republic of Azerbaijan for Armenia and meeting with the officials of this country.
The visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia can be considered as part of Tehran's diplomatic efforts to strengthen the peace and stability of the region following the Nagorno-Karabakh war.
During the 44-day military conflict that began on September 27, 2020, the Republic of Azerbaijan was able to liberate its territories occupied by Armenian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh after nearly 30 years.
The military conflict ended on November 10 last year with the signing of a tripartite statement by the Presidents of Azerbaijan, Russia, and the Prime Minister of Armenia.
