Defense Min. says Iran has made significant achievements in ground combat

Tehran (IP) - The Minister of Defense has said that in recent years, we have achieved very significant achievements in ground combat, especially in the field of anti-tank missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, and guided bombs, tactical vehicles, and smart weapons. 

Iran PressIran news: On the anniversary of retaking the Khorramshahr city during the Iran-Iraq war back in 1982 and the Day of Resistance and Victory, members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian Parliament attended an exhibition of the achievements and progress of the Ministry of Defense in the field of ground equipment and special ground weapons.

During the visit, members of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission met with the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support to review the most important defense and security issues in the country and the region and the defense development and equipment of the Armed Forces.

Brigadier General Amir Hatami stated that holding such defense exhibitions was to strengthen the armed forces and deepen the country's strategic depth in all defense and military dimensions.

He referred to the strengthening and upgrading of missile power as the first goal of the Ministry of Defense in its plans. He underlined the strengthening of air defense, air combat, naval and ground forces as other defense industry priorities.

The Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support, referring to the strategic importance of ground combat in wars and battles, noted: "The ground combat is important because it determines the defense power of each country on the battlefield. In recent years, we have achieved very significant achievements in ground combat, especially in the field of anti-tank missiles, ground-to-ground, guided bombs, tactical vehicles, smart weapons, etc." 

Hatami considered one of the highlights of the defense industry to meet the diverse and advanced needs of the armed forces during the maximum pressure and oppressive sanctions and stated: "With the wise guidance of the Commander-in-Chief, very favorable interaction with the armed forces has been established throughout the country and we have tried to use all national capacities to provide maximum power."
