Tehran (IP) - Iran's Health Ministry announced on Sunday that COVID-19 had killed 216 patients during the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 78,597.

Iran PressIran News: According to definitive laboratory findings from yesterday to May 23, 2021, 2,832,518 people in the country have contracted COVID-19, and 2,333,789 of the total infected people recovered.

Newly diagnosed patients with COVID-19 were 8,631 cases, out of whom 1,170 patients were hospitalized.

4,855 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care units (ICU).

So far, 18,932,896 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted across Iran.

According to the latest analysis, 8 cities are red, 233 are orange, and 207 are yellow zones.

So far, 2,536,627 people have received the first dose of the COVID vaccine, 455,232 people have received the second dose, and the total number of vaccines injected in the country reached 2,991,859 doses.
