Iran Press/ Iran News: Abolqasem Ferdowsi, the great Iranian poet, was born in 940 and died in 1020 AD in Tous, near Mashhad, the capital of Khorasan Razavi Province.
The Persian language and Ferdowsi's Shahnameh have had a long and inseparable connection with each other for centuries. Ferdowsi can be called a reviver of the Persian language, and Shahnameh can also be considered proof of Iranian identity.
Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, which has nearly 50,000 verses, is a collection of national stories and the ancient history of kings and great heroes of Iran, which describes their heroic deeds and conquest, valiancy, courage, and religiosity.
The tomb of Abolqasem Ferdowsi is located in Tous. Among the various attractions of Mashhad, visiting the tomb is of interest to every Iranian and foreign tourist.
