Iran reacts to Azerbaijan-Armenia border disputes

Tehran (IP) - The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, while emphasizing the need to maintain stability and peace in the region, called on the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia to exercise restraint to avoid fomenting disputes.

Iran PressIran news: Saeed Khatibzadeh, the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Friday, in reaction to the situation on the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia, added: "The Islamic Republic of Iran with sensitivity and cautiousness, follows recent developments on the borders of the two countries of  the Republic of Azerbaijan and Armenia and hopes that the dispute will be resolved as soon as possible with the tact of the parties and through peaceful means.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran while emphasizing the need to maintain stability and peace in the region, calls on both sides to exercise restraint and avoid inciting differences and respect the two countries borders."

Khatibzadeh said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to help resolve the disputes between the two countries peacefully, including the recent dispute."
