Belarus (IP)- The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Belarus said that the issue of Palestine would not only be considered as the issue of the Islamic world but also the issue of human society due to the oppression and injustice that had been committed against Palestinians.

Iran PressEurope: In a speech on the Founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khomeini's far-sighted plan to name the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day, Saeed Yari attended the Minsk Grand Mosque on the occasion of International Quds Day, inspiring the awakening and solidarity of the nation of the Prophet of Islam Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in support of the oppressed nation of Palestine and keeping alive the ideal of freedom of the first qibla of Muslims and the practice of the Qur'anic teaching called " fight against oppression".

Yari added: "The issue of Palestine has hurt the hearts of all freedom–seekers and has become a standard for the cause of justice and humanity."

He stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stressed the need to continue the support of Muslim nations and governments as well as those fighting for freedom across the world for struggles in terms of liberating the Palestinian people."

Emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always proudly stood by the oppressed people of Palestine, the Iranian ambassador to Belarus said that the only way to sustainable peace and stability in Palestine is to go to the polls, hold a referendum with all major Palestinians participating in the process and determine the future political system in Palestine by the majority of Palestinians.

Despite the restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic, a significant number of Muslims of Belarusian, Afghan, Azerbaijani, Turkish, Indian, Tajik, and Lebanese nationalities attended Friday prayers this week.
