Tehran (IP) - Referring to the issues discussed in the National Task Force for Combating the Coronavirus at the beginning of last week, the President said that all departments were obliged to control the eastern borders seriously and decisively so that Iran did not face a similar situation to that caused by the British virus.

Iran Press/Iran newsHassan Rouhani stressed: "All relevant agencies, according to the responsibilities assigned to them in the General Staff of the Armed Forces, including the police, governorates and provincial headquarters of fighting coronavirus, are required to act in a coordinated manner."

The President referred to the outbreak of the disease throughout the country, adding, "Given the many mutations we are witnessing from this virus, it seems that this disease is not going to end soon and the only certain way to break the chain and reduce the infection cases is to comply with health protocols fully."

"Despite the efforts being made in the field of vaccines around the world, given the doubts that experts have about the full effectiveness of vaccines in future mutations, we cannot be so sure about vaccination, so following the protocols and avoiding unnecessary gatherings is still the only effective solution in dealing with the disease."

Referring to the participation of the private sector in the import of foreign vaccines, the President once again instructed the Ministry of Health to cooperate fully with the private sector in this regard and provide the necessary facilities for the participation of the private sector in this field.

The President also stressed: "Considering the experience we had last year regarding Qadr nights, we hope to be able to observe health protocols in full so that we can take full advantage of these precious nights."
