vaccination of 80-year old Iranians kicks off in Tabriz, Iran

Tehran (IP) - The Coronavirus vaccination of 80-year old Iranians kicked off in Tabriz via videoconferencing on Tuesday with Iran's Health Minister in attendance.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at the ceremony, Saeed Namaki highlighted that no one should be left untreated.

"After elderlies, other target groups like those with pre-existing conditions or special diseases prioritize getting the vaccine soon," said Namaki.

It is necessary to inform the public to get vaccinated where, when, and how, added Namaki.

"Until June, the vaccination processes will be accomplished in the country," stressed the minister.

"The first phase of vaccination has been carried out successfully, though, facing some challenges (two weeks' delay)," the official underlined.

"Producing the Sputnik vaccine is actively ongoing, and other foreign vaccine orders will be completed to speed up the vaccination process in the country," said Iran's Health Minister Saeed Namaki.
