Chabahar (IP) - 'Pishin' border terminal, as the third and southernmost official border crossing between Iran and Pakistan in Chabahar city, was inaugurated with the presence of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development.

Iran PressIran News: Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami emphasized the development of comprehensive cooperation with Pakistan and said: "We reaffirm our readiness to hold the 21st meeting of the Joint Economic Cooperation Commission of Iran and Pakistan in the next three months."

In a speech on Wednesday at the opening ceremony of the Pishin official border terminal, attended by the Iranian and Pakistani officials, Eslami added: "We hope that the reopening of the third official border will be a bright future for the growing economic cooperation between Iran and Pakistan."

He noted: "We have brotherly relations with our neighbors and the expansion of close economic relations with these neighbors is defined as an empowering and comprehensive approach under the macro foreign policy, and it relies on utilizing all the capacities of the country, especially the border areas, which will deepen and connect bilateral and multilateral regions."

Eslami said: "Pakistan, with 959 km of common border with Iran and as one of the most populous neighbors, with ethnic and cultural commonalities, has always had a high status for the people and government of Iran."

Eslami added: "The expansion of border relations between the two countries to create border markets and production and industrial complexes and consequently the development of neighboring provinces and economic development of the region will lead to the welfare and prosperity of border residents in the provinces of the two countries."

"I hope that the unique location of the Pishin border point and its proximity to the port of Karachi, Pakistan's main port, will allow the transit of goods through this border to increase," Eslami said.

The Pishin border will be built on a total area of 13 hectares, but today its temporary site with an area of 2.5 hectares was put into operation.
