Tehran (IP) - The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament stressed that the response to the terrorist attack on the Natanz nuclear site was a necessity and would be done in due time.

Iran PressIran News: Referring to the start of 60% enrichment at the Natanz nuclear facility, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Sunday: "This enrichment proved to the enemies that Iran's nuclear industry has become indigenous."

"The locks on the nuclear industry were broken and we could use them to lift all sanctions," he added.

The speaker of the Iranian parliament also said: The enemy tried to weaken Iran's negotiating position by sabotaging in Natanz.

The Natanz nuclear site was hit by an attack on Sunday which Iran called “nuclear terrorism” and a “war crime.” The sabotage attack, which Iran blamed on Israel, targeted the electricity distribution network of the Natanz enrichment facility and caused a blackout.

Ghalibaf added: "The achievement of 60% enrichment has shown the other side that such measures, instead of being a threat to Iran's nuclear activities, have become a unique opportunity to take longer steps towards nuclear progress."

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Saturday approved a 60% percent enrichment at Iran’s Natanz nuclear facility.

Iranian parliament's closed session was held on reviewing Iran-China strategic document. The National Security and Foreign Policy Commission and the Iran-China Parliamentary Group held an extraordinary meeting in the presence of Foreign Ministry officials.
