Tehran (IP) – The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization announced the continuation of uranium enrichment in the Natanz nuclear facility.

Iran PressIran News: Ali-Akbar Salehi stated that Iran's action to produce uranium up to 60% enrichment had been following parliament's "Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions" law.

"This process is envisaged in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) framework and we have been researching for a long time," he noted.

The Islamic Republic of Iran announced in a letter to the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) Rafael Grossi, on Tuesday that 1,000 new centrifuges would be installed at the Natanz nuclear facility.

Iran has announced that 1,000 new centrifuges would be of the IR-1 type, but the efficiency of these new machines would increase by 50%.
