Tehran (IP) - Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs said the government did not hesitate to secure the Islamic Republic of Iran's interests and lift the sanctions on the Iranian nation.

Iran PressIran News: In a Sunday post on his Instagram page, Abbas Araghchi stressed the importance of securing the Iranian nation's interests and said that no efforts were spared in the path.

"Following the definite positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran's establishment and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, our heavy struggle in defending the interests of the nation, the blood of the martyrs and the ideals of the Revolution will continue to the last breath, and no threat or blackmail will deter us from this path," Araghchi wrote.

The 18th meeting of the Joint Commission of the JCPOA was held online on Friday with the representatives of Iran and the P4+1 in attendance, and these talks are scheduled to be continued in person in Vienna on Tuesday this week.

Abbas Araghchi is Iran's envoy in these talks.

Araghchi on Sunday stressed that Iran had no direct or indirect negotiations with the United States, and talks with the P4+1 had been quite technical.

"What Iran had been pursuing in Vienna in the Joint Commission of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was based on the exact positions of the Islamic Republic, which had been repeatedly reiterated by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and the country's officials," the Iranian diplomat said on Sunday.
