Tehran (IP) - The spokesman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament of Iran, emphasizing the position of Iran on the rejection of the gradual return of the United States to JCPOA, said Washington must compensate for the caused damages to Iran.

Iran PressIran News: Abolfazl Amoui, on Saturday, referring to the possible return of the United States to the nuclear deal, added: "Given that the United States withdrew from the agreement in 2018 and violated Security Council Resolution 2231, it is responsible for the current crisis in the implementation of the obligations under the nuclear agreement."

"Iran's steps to reduce its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) are legal because it was the American side that withdrew from the agreement," Amoui said, noting that Iran had legally reduced its obligations under Articles 26 and 36 of the nuclear deal.

He added that the US sanctions against Iran should be lifted completely and Washington must compensate for the caused damages to Iran.
