An informed source told Iran Press that today's talks of the JCPOA Joint Commission stressed the consensus in Iran on the need to lift all sanctions by the United States before Iran's returning to its obligations toward the agreement.

Just as the United States withdrew from the JCPOA without negotiating and imposed sanctions on Iran, it must now lift all sanctions without negotiation, he added.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran does not accept any plan based on the step-by-step lifting of sanctions by the United States," the source stressed.

The top informed source reiterated that based on the order by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on January 8, 2021, Iran would return to the JCPOA, only if the US sanctions were totally lifted from Iran and its commitments to the agreement were verified.

The remarks came as the European Union said in a statement on Thursday that officials from Iran, China, Russia, France, Germany and Britain will meet virtually on Friday to discuss a possible return of the United States to the 2015 nuclear deal.
