The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on two Chinese officials in the wake of Washington's hostile actions against China.

Iran PressAmerica: The US Treasury Department on Monday imposed sanctions on the two Chinese officials for their alleged involvement in human rights abuses in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

Wang Jong-zheng, a senior official in the Xinxiang Manufacturing Corps (XPCC), and Chen Mingguo, head of China's Xinjiang Provincial Public Security Administration, are among those sanctioned by the US Treasury Department.

Earlier today,  the European Union imposed sanctions on one Chinese institution and four Chinese officials under the same pretext; this move was promptly responded by China by imposing sanctions on 14 European individuals and institutions.

Relations between the West and China have been strained in recent months due to the interventionist approach of the United States and its allies to developments in Hong Kong, as well as repeated accusations by Western officials against Beijing over human rights abuses in China's Xinjiang province.

Human rights reports by the United States and its allies have always been criticized by the world and international human rights organizations for incorrect methodology, double standards, bias along with disregard for neutrality, indigenous culture and lifestyles of other communities, and interference in the internal affairs of nations. 219
