Roma (IP) - Mutant types of coronavirus, especially the British virus, have made half of Italy red and the other half orange.

Iran PressEurope: Following the rapid spread of the English virus in Italy and the shortage of beds in the intensive care unit of hospitals, the government tightened restrictions and closed schools in 16 provinces of the country's 20 along with businesses with new quarantines.

Italian health officials have urged people not to leave home except to go to work, buy food and medicine, and health items.

The corona vaccination program in Italy, like in other EU countries, has been delayed.

The Italian government has announced that the restrictions will be tightened for three weeks and the country will be quarantined during the Easter holidays (April 3 to 5, 2021).

Police and the army have been deployed in major cities to closely monitor the implementation of the instructions. Violation of quarantine in Italy is punishable by a fine of 400 to 3 thousand euros.

According to the Italian Ministry of Health, the total number of COVID-19 patients in the country has increased to 3,238,394 and the total number of victims has reached 102,499.
