Iran Press/ Iran News: Manual Six-speed gearboxes mass production line was inaugurated on Saturday, relying on Iranian engineers’ power, design, and knowledge in the presence of Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Alireza Razm Hosseini, the CEO of Iran Khodro Industrial Group (IKCOOS), as well as other officials of Qazvin province.
The amount of fuel consumption decline in Six-speed gearboxes compared with the five-speed ones fits the type of engine and car that reaches 7 to 9 percent in high speed.
The daily production of about 700 vehicles equipped with six-speed gearboxes will reduce fuel consumption by 9 million liters per year.
For the Iran-Khodro six-speed gearbox's design and production, more than 135 new molds have been used with the cooperation of 21 manufacturers, and the domestic gearbox production with about 87 million Euros will create currency savings over four years.
The six-speed gearbox can be installed on most products of Iran Khodro. The production of this gearbox in the conditions of sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak and its domestic construction is considered a jihadi act.
The Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran said that 95% of the production parts of the 6-speed manual gearbox of Niroo Mohrakeh Company are domestic. The design and production of automatic gearboxes are also on the agenda.
