Tehran (IP)- Iran's President called Senegal a significant country in West Africa that could be the gateway to Iran's relations with African countries.

Iran Press/Iran News: Receiving the credentials of the new Ambassador of Senegal to Tehran on Wednesday, Hassan Rouhani referred to the good and sincere relations between the two countries over the past years, stressing the development and deepening of political and economic relations and increasing cooperation in scientific, cultural, technological and academic fields as well as Islamic sciences.

Rouhani added: "Iran and Senegal have perfect grounds for developing relations, and the cooperation of the two countries' public and private sectors is essential to achieve this goal."During the meeting, the new Ambassador of Senegal to Tehran, Salio Dieng, submitted his credentials to Iran's President, stating that trying to increase the level of relations and deepen relations between the two countries was one of his most important goals during his mission in Iran.

Dieng noted: "Iran-Senegal relations have always been good and fraternal, and the two countries have many areas for strategic cooperation."
