Tehran (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister said his country's support of the Yemeni nation was based on the principle of support of the oppressed.

Iran PressIran news: In his Tuesday interview with Al-Masira, Mohammad Javad Zarif said efforts are going on to end the Yemeni crisis and announced his country's support of any move contributing to the termination of the Saudi aggression on Yemen.

He highlighted the end of the war on Yemen and lifting the sanctions from upon the Yemeni nation as the prelude for solving the humanitarian crisis in the country. 

With the support of the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, Saudi Arabia has been invading and besieging Yemen since March 2015.

The outbreak of war by Saudi Arabia and its allies in Yemen has killed tens of thousands and has made millions of Yemenis homeless.
