Ghalibaf ask for two parliament Commissions to pursue dispute resolution with government

Tehran (IP) - Iran's Parliament Speaker asked the chairmen of the National Security, Foreign Policy, and Energy Commissions to pursue the resolution of the dispute between the government and Parliament over the Strategic Action Law for lifting sanctions.

Iran PressIran News: Following the statements of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on the need to resolve disputes between the government and parliament on one of the articles of the Strategic Action Law to Lift Sanctions, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mojtaba Zulnouri and Fereydoun Abbasi, chairmen of the National Security appointed a liaison officer with the government centered on the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council.

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly has asked Zulnouri and Abbasi to implement Article 6 of the Law on Strategic Action to Lift Sanctions (related to the suspension of the Additional Protocol) by drawing the attention of members of the two commissions and focusing on the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council in interaction with the government, the Atomic Energy Organization, and the Foreign Ministery to pursue the matter promptly.

Ghalibaf also noted that a report on the results of these actions and consultations should be presented to him and the parliament as soon as possible.

The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly also stressed the need for the people's representatives in the parliament to be at the forefront of follow-up and consultations in the full and accurate implementation of the law on strategic action to lift sanctions.
