Iran Press/Iran News: "We did not leave any excuse for the signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) to ask us not to implement the law, and the law must be implemented on February 23," Mahmoud Vaezi added.
"Iran has told the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that in the Islamic Republic, the government and officials have a common view that the law should be implemented," Vaezi told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of three projects belonging to the Bank of Industry and Mine.
He added: "We did not leave an excuse for the JCPOA parties to ask Iran not to enforce the law, and the law will take effect on February 23 because we made it clear that based on democracy, when the parliament passes the law, that law must be enforced."
Vaezi stated: "Based on the connection that Iran had in the past and before the JCPOA as well as the voluntary acceptance of the Additional Protocol in relation to the IAEA safeguards agreements, and as a member of the Agency, the country cooperated for monitoring. There was an announcement that Iran is committed because its nuclear activities are peaceful, and it is the official position of the country not to seek nuclear weapons at all, and Iran accepts surveillance that is within the framework of safeguards."
The head of Iran's presidential staff noted: "The visit by the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi to Tehran was accompanied by very successful negotiations and with the agreement reached we reached a formula that respects Iranian Parliament's law and as well as its implementation. On the other hand, the IAEA's oversight should be based not on the Additional Protocol but on safeguards and Iran-IAEA relations."
He highlighted that all sanctions related to the JCPOA and 1,600 sanctions imposed by Donald Trump in four years should be lifted, and on the other hand, the US Secretary of State underscored on Saturday that maximum pressure had failed and Iran should not be spoken to in the language of sanctions, and this does not work.
