Sisakht (IP) - The deputy head of the country's Red Crescent said that by the order of the secretary general of the organization and the head of the country's Red Crescent Society, a rapid reaction team was immediately sent to the province."

Iran Press/Iran News:The meeting of the provincial crisis management headquarters was held this morning in the presence of the governor, the deputy director of operations of the Red Crescent Society, the deputy director of management development and resources of the Red Crescent Society and a group of senior provincial and city managers.

The deputy of the Red Crescent of the country stated in this meeting: Currently, 4 neighboring provinces are in full readiness to provide assistance and relief, and if necessary and request, they will enter the province with full equipment.

A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck southwest Iran near the town of Sisakht in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province on Wednesday evening.

It is said that the quake, felt in several cities and towns in the region, struck at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) at 10:05 p.m. local time (18:35 GMT). 

Rescue teams and ambulances have been dispatched to the area.
