A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck southwest Iran near the town of Sisakht on Wednesday.

Iran PressIran News: A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck southwest Iran near the town of Sisakht in 

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province on Wednesday evening.

It is said that the quake, felt in several cities and towns in the region, struck at a depth of 10 km (6 miles) at 10:05 p.m. local time (18:35 GMT). 

Rescue teams and ambulances have been dispatched to the area.

So far, 4 people in Semirom county and 40 peolpe in Dena county, have been injured by the earthquake, but no death has been reported yet. 219
