Oman Sea (IP) - The first phase of the Iran-Russia 2021 Hybrid Maritime Security Belt exercise began on Tuesday with the firing of two countries' vessels at two predetermined targets at sea.

Iran PressIran news: This morning, the vessel units of Iran and Russia moved to the northern Indian Ocean and performed the first stage of the exercise.

At this stage, the Iranian and Russian vessel units commanded by the all-Iranian destroyer ‘Jamaran’ fired at predetermined targets at the sea, using various weapons.

In the next phase of the exercise, the ‘PHOTOEX’ operation was carried out, including the formation and offensive arrangement of the units participating in the exercise in accordance with the threats in the region.

All stages of the exercise were carried with the Navy helicopters’ aerial monitoring of the area.

Iran-Russia 2021 Combined Maritime Security Belt exercise began on Tuesday in the northern Indian Ocean and Oman Sea and is underway for two days.
